Knowledge as a product or knowledge as a process - an educational perspective on evidence-based practice: ---

2009 (English)In: Evidence and Practical Knowledge in Substance Abuse Treatment: A basis for discussion / [ed] Håkan Jenner & Vera Segraeus, Växjö: Växjö University Press , 2009, p. 5-14Chapter in book (Other academic)
Abstract [en]

This article focus on two principally different ways of looking at knowledge - as a product or as a process - and the implications for creating an evidence-based practice within the area of substance abuse treatment. Key-words in the first case are for example information and “knowledge spreading”, in the other case contextualisation and reflection. The underlying prerequisite is here that competence is not a personal trait or characteristic, but a capacity for action, which is related to specific situations and contexts.
