Abstract [es]

Abstract [en]

In this qualitative study, eight basic secondary school teachers in Sweden who teach the subject of Spanish as a foreign language have been investigated, with the purpose of learning the role that ICTs play in the evaluation of the communicative competence of the language learners. It also aims to know the challenges that teachers face when assessing their students through ICT. The results show that all teachers use the different digital tools that exist today to enhance language learning, with videos on YouTube, Kahoot and digital books among the most popular. On the other hand, all teachers find both advantages and disadvantages in the use of ICT, as well as challenges at the time of the evaluation, being among the most prominent the technical problems, the use of translators and self-correctors, the loss of focus on teaching-learning and the lack of training by schools for the better management of ICT.
