Abstract [en]

The existence for companies today consists of constant challenges with customers that want more individual products with high quality as quickly as possible. For a company to be able to have a short delivery time, it must also have a short production time. This makes streamlining and improvement of processes a big part of a company’s work

This thesis has been carried out together with the company Lasermax Roll Systems AB, a world-leading manufacturer of feeding, finishing and monitoring systems for high-speed digital printers. They manufacture their products according to the assembling for costumer order principle.

The purpose with this thesis is to map and analyze, the assembling process and the test process at Lasermax Roll Systems AB. The mapping of the processes shall result in flowcharts and identifying problems in the processes, which can be used for working with improvements.

The information for the result has been gathered by interviews of key persons in the processes and studies of existing information at Lasermax Roll Systems AB. Later on the empirical information has been analyzed by comparing with literature from the theoretical part.

The thesis resulted in flowcharts over the production processes, assembling and test. Also three problem areas were identified which can be used for working with improvements. The three areas are: items and suppliers, control of review and testing of the products.

Conclusions of this thesis are that working with mapping of processes is very good för companies today to become more effective and improve their business. It is also important for the companies to see the overall picture of their business and work with it, from suppliers to the costumer, together, to be able to deliver a product on time with good quality.
