Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka och analysera förskollärares föreställningar och resonemang om musik i relation till estetiska lärprocesser i förskolepraktiker. Under-sökningens metod utgår från den kvalitativa forskningsintervjun. Det empiriska materialet består av intervjuer med tio förskollärare. Teorival tar avstamp i Eisners (1974) myter och i Molander (2009) och Burmans (2014) teorier om estetiska lärprocesser. Det är utifrån dessa teorier jag genom abduktivt förfarande utformat en analysmodell. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna ser musik som ett ämne som dels behöver styras, dels är till för att utveckla andra kompetenser än det musikaliska. Angående dessa föreställningar om musik i relation till estetiska lärprocesser visar resultatet att det reproducerande arbetet i förskolan är överrepresenterat och att det praktiska arbetet slutar vid ett görande. Förskollärarna reflekterar och lyfter inte görandet vidare för att barnet ska kunna skapa något nytt, alternativt. Min tolkning av detta resultat är att förskollärarna i studien inte har tillräcklig musikalisk och musikdidaktisk kunskap för att kunna arbeta med musikaliska kvaliteter och instrumentspel i relation till estetiska lärprocesser.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyse preschool teachers views and ideas regarding music in relation to aesthetic learning processes in preschool pedagogy. The method of this study is based upon the qualitative research interview. The empirical material consists of interviews from ten preschool teachers. Choice of theory derives from Eisner´s (1974) myths and Molander´s (2009) and Burman´s (2014) theories regarding aesthetic learningprocesses. I have, based on these theories, created a model of analysis through an abductive procedure. The result shows that preschool teachers view music as a subject that partly needs to be controlled, partly exist as a means of developing other competences than musical. Regarding these ideas about music, in relation to aesthetic learning processes, the result shows that reproductive work in preschools is over represented, and practical work stops at simply “doing”. Preschool teachers do not reflect and give prominence to “the doing”, in order for the child to be able to create something new, alternative. My interpretation of the result is that the preschool teachers in this study do not have enough musical didactic education and musical knowledge, in order to work with musical qualities and instrument playing in relation to aesthetic learning processes.
