This essay aims to reply to the research problem; forced migration by gender perspective, and

more specifically, a very large number of refugees coming from forced migration into

European Union during the years 2015 to 2016, and how this stream of refugees had an

impact on the reform of the European Unions asylumpolicy.

This essay also includes a chapter about how the Swedish Migration board handled the high

number of refugees that arrived in Sweden during autumn 2015, and with other agencies

wrote an evaluation about how they were handling the situation with refugees that applied for

asylum in Sweden. This evaluation is done by a chosen theoretical startingpoint which is the

theory gender and development with an operationalization by a gender analysis that helps

specify different kind of measurements to why the asylumpolicy and the guidelines by the

Swedish Migration board doesn’t originate from a gender perspective.
