Abstract [sv]

Syfte

Uppsatsens forskningsfråga lyder: ”Hur kan olika inslag inom inköpsfunktionen utvecklas för att skapa en mer effektiv inköpsorganisation hos Nolato MediTech?” Studiens syfte är att klargöra olika inslag i inköpsfunktionen samt identifiera förbättringsmöjligheter för att företaget skall kunna utveckla en mer effektiv inköpsorganisation. Vidare är syftet att resonera kring väldefinierade gränsdragningar i inköpsarbetet.

 

Metod

Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ fallstudie där semistrukturerade intervjuer har använts för insamlingen av det empiriska materialet. Totalt intervjuades 18 anställda på företaget. En abduktiv ansats har använts där teorikapitlet anpassats under studiens gång.

 

Slutsats

Vi har genom studien kunnat identifiera mönster och tendenser där inköpsfunktionen ses bli alltmer central inom organisationer och att struktur är av stor vikt för skapa effektiva inköp.  God kommunikation samt kvalitet är ytterligare några genomgående tendenser och mönster som framkommit. Vi har kommit fram till att tydliga gränsdragningar mellan nivåerna strategiskt, taktiskt och operativt inköp kan minimera och förebygga överlappande arbete. Vi har klargjort aktiviteter, arbetsroller, ledningssystem samt struktur som olika inslag inom inköpsfunktionen.

Abstract [en]

Purpose

Our research question for this study is: “How can different elements in the purchasing function be developed to create an efficient purchasing organization at Nolato MediTech?” The purpose of this study is to clarify different elements in the purchasing function and to identify areas of improvement in order to develop a more efficient purchasing organization.  The purpose is also to discuss how clear distinctions can be made between purchasing activities.

 

Method

Our study was conducted through a qualitative case study in which semi-structured interviews were used for the collection of empirical data. In total we interviewed 18 people that works at Nolato MediTech. The study was made with an abductive approach where the theory chapter was adapted during the course of the study.

 

Conclusion

The purchasing function has become more important for organizations and clear structure is vital to create an efficient purchasing function. Good communication and quality are patterns and trends that have been recognized in this study. Clear distinctions between purchasing activities in strategic, tactic and operational purchasing can minimize and prevent duplicate work. We have identified activities, roles, management system and structure as elements in the purchasing function.
