Abstract [sv]

Kapitlet behandlar julboken inom feelgood-litteraturen.

Abstract [en]

The chapter considers the Christmas book within feelgood literature. Motifs, patterns and common intertexts are analysed. The inherent limitations of the genre are problematized from the perpectives of tradition, milieu, and representativity. The chapter also explores women's writing (as act and writing feelgood literature) in two novels as it bears upon how and why Christmas books are read and marketed. Finally, the Christmas book is discussed in relation to the industrial system (publishing houses, book selling) and the social system (social meida, writers, readers).
