Abstract [en]

This is the study on the investigation of the challenges to youth entrepreneurship mainly focusing on thelack of entrepreneurial skills as a major challenge and exploring the enablers which could facilitatecountering these barriers for young entrepreneurs in Cameroon and Pakistan. Qualitative approach hasbeen used for this study. To answer the research questions, the team has used the interviews as a methodfor this research. Ten interviews have been conducted, five interviews from Pakistan and five fromCameroon. From the interviews, the team got detailed insights about the challenges which youngentrepreneurs have faced in their countries and the information about the possible enablers which youngentrepreneurs want to have in their counties as a solution for all the challenges. The focus in this studywas on the challenges regarding the lack of entrepreneurial skills in Cameroon and Pakistan. All thecollected data from interviews was converted into some codes and clusters. Challenges were coveredinto six clusters. First, lack of entrepreneurial education and training. Second, lack of entrepreneurialskills. Third, lack of financial support. Fourth, lack of managerial Skills. Five, demotivating supportstructure for youth Entrepreneurship. Six, lack of governmental support. And the enablers were dividedinto four clusters. First, better public and governmental policies. Second, a better entrepreneurialeducational system. Third, entrepreneurial skills development and fourth financial support. Theempirical chapter then analyzed by explaining their importance in terms of the reviewed literature inthis study. By analyzing all the collected data, a draft of the digital platform has been designed foryoung entrepreneurs as an innovative research implication for this study. This digital platform willprovide young entrepreneurs help for preparing for a successful entrepreneurial journey.
