Ill health rates in muncipal care and nursing-an urgent problem to solve. : A qualitative study on ill health rates in various areas of activity in a muncipal care and welfare administration. (English)
Abstract [en]
The purpose of the study is to examine how ill health rates effect the quality of the daily care work and what thoughts and experiences the care staff have in order to create healthier jobs which is characterized by lower ill health rates. The study answers questions about how the rights perspective, salutogenic leadership and sense of coherence and quality can affect to reduce ill health in health and care activities in the surveyed muncipality. Previous research regarding development of ill health in our society and how the quality of care is affected by the ill health rates of the care staff are also examined in the study.
The essay is based on six semi-structured interviews with care staff from elderly care and LSS group housing which in their daily work meet caregivers with extensive care needs. These caregivers are negatively affected by the increased ill-health of the care staff. The results of the study consistent with previous research and theoretical concepts.
