Abstract [en]

The thesis examines the Sweden Democrats' policy in the 2022 and 2018 election manifestos is racist. The purpose of the study is to determine whether the party's policy is racist or not and to compare whether there is any difference between the manifestos. The theory is based on the definition of racism which has been limited to discrimination or exclusion based on culture, ethnic groups, religion or skin color. The study consists of a theory-testing qualitative content analysis of the election manifesto's policies regarding migration, criminal policy and welfare. The conclusion of the study is that the party's policy is not racist, but that there are central parts of their policy where the party makes a distinction between "us" and "them" which has a strong connection to the core of racism. The result in the essay is that the party's policy in the election manifesto is not racist, and there is also no difference between the manifesto from 2022 and 2018.
