Abstract [sv]
After the covid pandemic 2020, parasport participation numbers dropped around 40 percent in Sweden. Through document analysis and interviews with nine para sports associations, two different confederations and two different municipalities, the conditions of para sports in Kalmar municipality and Växjö municipality are investigated. The background contains an overview of the organization of the sports movement as well as apresentation of disabilities that are relevant to the study. The theory consists of ATDE model, collaboration theory and organisation theory. Within the results, a picture is created of the opportunities and challenges that sports associations, municipalities and confederations feel that para sports bring. In the conclusion, proposals are presented for how the municipalities can contribute to improve the conditions for para sports. Since the sports movement is independent, it will be difficult for the municipality as a separate organization to influence the direction of the sports movement, but here the conditions around sports can be improved to contribute to the development of para sports. Since the study adress a specific impairment we investigate and that the investigation is limited to two municipalities, proposals for future research will be presented at the end that would have been relevant to the work.
