Abstract [en]

This article examines the fate of three films made by black independent filmmaker Oscar Micheaux that were exported to Sweden in the 1920s. The article also aims to analyze Swedish film culture, and, by means of its structure explain the treatment, when it came to censorship and advertising practices, that Micheaux's film received in Sweden.
