Abstract [en]

The aim of this essay is to investigate if a political conduct that is based on presence is coherent with the values and views that we see as a vital part of any democracy today. I want to know what the politics of presence is about and also find out if there is parts in it that contradicts the general view on democracy. To do this I use a analysis model called “medborgardemokratin”. It is based on democratic values, the democratic constructions and democratic institutions. The results show that both the politic of prescens and “medborgardemokratin” wants to protect minoroties in socity but with different tools. The politic of prescens also accepts that there are experiences connected to a persons sex that a with another sex cant understand and therefor are a equal representation of greate value. But that representation cant be forced if we still want to protect the democratic ways and values.
