We are two students studying to become technicians, at the Kalmar Maritime Academy,who have chosen to produce a laboratory exercise in the course MKE ventilation.Because of the absence of science equipment, the course contained no practicalexperience, merely a theoretical assignment. Therefor we chose to create a construction,useful for future students by giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience,while attending the course.In order to get information, contact was made with Hammarsteds in Kalmar, whosponsored the project with equipment. Kimo Instruments Sweden AB sponsored us witha measuring instrument, which enabled measurement of the pressure in the construction.When the construction was finished, a lab-instruction was written. The instructionrequires the student to measure the pressure and calculate flows. Thereafter the studentsets a specific flow at different speeds and throttling, and examines which has producedthe best operating economics, to speed control or simply choke down the flow.

Vi är två studenter som läser till Drifttekniker på Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar, som harvalt att framställa en laboration i kursen MKE Ventilation. Anledningen var att kurseninte innehöll någon laboration eller praktisk övning. Det enda som fanns i kursen var enteoretisk uppgift. Med anläggningen som byggts i detta examensarbete får kommandestudenter mer praktisk kunskap när de läser kursen.För att få hjälp med information kontaktades Hammarsteds i Kalmar. De sponsrade ävenmed utrustning till laborationen. Kimo Instrument Sverige AB sponsrade med ettmätningsinstrument som gjorde att tryckmätning i anläggningen blev möjlig. Närbyggandet var klart, skrevs en laborationsintruktion. Instruktionen innefattade attstudenten skulle läsa av tryck och därefter räkna ut flöden. Dessutom skulle studentenställa in ett visst flöde vid olika varvtal och strypningar för att undersöka vad som gavbäst driftekonomi, att varvtalstyra eller att endast strypa ner flödet.
