A covenanted contract pertains : - A descriptive idea analysis of Swedish norms concerned intimate relations (English)
Abstract [en]

The aim of this composition is to analyze the norms about intimate relations between individuals in the Swedish society that the swedish government and RFSU describe, to elucidate which norms may exist and how the origin of them can be explained in the Swedish society. A descriptive idea analysis was used on selected text passages in the material of government investigations, reports from administrative authorities and digital published text material from RFSU's oficial webpage. Anthony Gidden's sociological theory about the transformation of the individual and the intimacy in western post modern societies was utilized to discuss the result in the analysis. The questions that were answeared are: Which norms of intimate relations in Swedish society today are described by the Swedish government and RFSU? and How can the origin of the swedish government's and RFSU's descriptions of intimate relations today be explained? The result of this study indicates that the variety of diferent types of relations and agreements according to them, depend on the individual's need and interests. Emotional bonds and sexualized actions can both be contained in a relation, or just one of them. Therefore the agreements betweeen the individuals are the essential ground for the relationship. Further the social development can be explained with the democracy progress in Sweden and the liberal thought of respect for the individual's rights and autonomy – but also with a greater trust and responsibility on the individual to manage and fulfill the social contracts.
