    Abstract [en]

    Weshow that paradoxical consequences of violations of Bell's inequality areinduced by the use of an unsuitable probabilistic description forthe EPR-Bohm-Bell experiment. The conventional description (due to Bell) isbased on a combination of statistical data collected for differentsettings of polarization beam splitters (PBSs). In fact, such dataconsists of some conditional probabilities which only partially define aprobability space. Ignoring this conditioning leads to apparent contradictions inthe classical probabilistic model (due to Kolmogorov). We show howto make a completely consistent probabilistic model by taking intoaccount the probabilities of selecting the settings of the PBSs.Our model matches both the experimental data and is consistentwith classical probability theory.

    Abstract [en]

    To implement an ERP-system is not an easy process. The success of the implementation depend on many different variables. The most important one is perhaps the requirement process, to define what the organization wants and expects from the system. In this study, the advantages of a process mapping are examined, in relation to the phase where the requirements are expressed in an ERP-implementation. The conclusion is that a process mapping generates an increased communication with the supplier of the ERP-system, hence the business knows their processes and thereby what they want from the system. From this knowledge, the supplier can design the system more closely to the organizational needs.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this thesis was to identify design principles for use at migrations of stationary games to Apple’s iPhone. Literature studies, heuristic evaluation, survey and in-depth interviews were used as methods. The results showed that especially input methods, lack of feedback and screen size are problematic ares in migrated games. Conclusions include that games should never be migrated exactly like the stationary versions, new input methods in mobile phones should be utilized in a better way and it should be considered if some games are suitable to be migrated at all depending on genre.

    Abstract [en]

    We study the Uhlmann holonomy [Rep. Math. Phys. 24, 229 (1986)] of quantum states for hydrogen-like atoms, where the intrinsic spin and orbital angular momentum are coupled by the spin-orbit interaction and subject to a slowly varying magnetic field. We show that the holonomy for the orbital angular momentum and spin subsystems is non-Abelian, while the holonomy of the whole system is Abelian. Quantum entanglement in the states of the whole system is crucially related to the non-Abelian gauge structure of the subsystems. We analyze the phase of the Wilson loop variable associated with the Uhlmann holonomy, and find a relation between the phase of the whole system with corresponding marginal phases. Based on the result for the model system we provide evidence that the phase of the Wilson loop variable and the mixed-state geometric phase [Phys. Rev. Lett. 85, 2845 (2000)] are in general inequivalent.

    Abstract [en]

    Geometric manipulation of a quantum system offers a method for fast, universal, and robust quantum information processing. Here, we propose a scheme for universal all-geometric quantum computation using non-adiabatic quantum holonomies. We propose three different realizations of the scheme based on an unconventional use of quantum dot and single-molecule magnet devices,which offer promising scalability and robust efficiency.

    In our modern time, age of education is decreasing day by day. People have started tolearn more advanced things at earlier ages. This fact is also true for children. They arelearning more advanced thing now because they are facing new technology in everyaspect of life.

    Today, one of the most popular subject is computer programming so it is also one ofthe most popular technologies to investigate, inevitably. One reason to such popularity isthat computer programming is very important in every field of life or business and itseems that this importance will improve with time. Certain levels of logic and synthesisare needed for programming. It is crucial to improve these skills.

    This master thesis tries to improve and tame the programming abilities of childrenand strengthen the knowledge about the basic concepts of mathematics and physics,which are related to the computer science by creating simple computer games usingGreenfoot Framework.

    In this project, tutorials like approach was used. Designs of the games was studied astutorials and at the end of the last tutorial, two tests and a survey were applied.

    According to the results, purpose about improving and taming the programmingabilities of children is achieved. For the other purposes, these are increases around 8%and 16%. Since they are not dramatic increases and the target number is 6 I can not sayclearly that these purposes are also achieved.

    Abstract [en]

    In this thesis, the dynamical system is used as a function on afinite group, to show how states change. We investigate the'numberof cycles' and 'length of cycle' under finite groups. Using grouptheory, fixed point, periodic points and some examples, formulas tofind 'number of cycles' and 'length of cycle' are derived. Theexamples used are on finite cyclic group Z_6 with respectto binary operation '+'. Generalization using finite groups ismade. At the end, I compared the dynamical system over finite cyclic groups with the finite non-cyclic groups and then prove the general formulas to find 'number of cycles' and 'length of cycle' for both cyclic and non-cyclic groups.

    An unavoidable amount of money is spent on maintaining existing software systems today. Software maintenance cost generally higher than development cost of the system therefore lowering maintenance cost is highly appreciated in software industry.

    A significant part of maintenance activities is related to repeating the investigation of problems and applying repeated solutions several times. A software system may contain a common bug in several different places and it might take extra effort and time to fix all existences of this bug. This operation commonly increases the cost of Software Maintenance Activities.

    Detecting duplicate code fragments can significantly decrease the time and effort therefore the maintenance cost. Clone code detection can be achieved via analyzing the source code of given software system. An abstract syntax tree based clone detector for java systems is designed and implemented through this study.

    This master thesis examines a software engineering process to create an abstract syntax tree based clone detector for the projects implemented in Java programming language.

    Abstract [en]

    Teaching and learning the principles of wireless communication is a challenging issue mainly because it is difficult for students to translate the theoretical models that are commonly used in this area into practical knowledge. In order to address this challenge, we explore how to design and implement novel teaching and learning activities that integrate the principles of situated learning supported by mobile, positioning and web technologies. In this paper we present the results of our on-going efforts in this direction describing the rationale of our approach, an application supporting a learning activity designed under this approach and the outcomes of an evaluation we conducted with 28 engineering students. Obtained results show that the proposed approach offers the students new possibilities to combine theoretical and practical knowledge in a variety of collaborative situations in which mobile and web technologies played a central role.

    Situated Learning stresses the importance of the context in which learning takesplace. It has been therefore frequently associated with informal learning or learning outsidethe classroom. Mobile technologies can play an important role supporting this type oflearning, since it mainly occurs on the field. In this paper we present a learning system and amethodology based on the use of patterns. Students learn about patterns by finding instancesof them on the field, or by recognizing new patterns unknown to them so far. The teacherproposes tasks to the students consisting on finding instances of patterns or discovering newones along a path or inside a pre defined area on a map. This work illustrates the role thatgeo-referenced data collected on the field can play in supporting situated learning activities.

    Spectroscopic methods for secure document authentication: An application to the automated handling of sheet-like objects2010Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    For a long time, document security features, in particular inks and paper fibres, have been composed of materials with specific spectral characteristics. Consequently, spectral cues are playing an important role in forensic authentication methods. Document sorting machines, on the other hand, are characterized by a transport speed of often more than one meter per second. Furthermore, such systems are constrained with respect to size and cost. As a consequence, generic spectroscopic detection methods have rarely been used in that area. However, with recent technological advances in light-sources and in fast, low-cost spectrometers, generic spectroscopic analysis may become affordable for wider use in a not too distant future.

    The goal of this thesis project is evaluating the suitability of generic spectroscopic methods for the authentication of secure documents. To this end, the hardware and software for a spectroscopic sensor prototype was developed and integrated into an automated document sorting machine. This prototype consists of a grating spectrometer, covering the near UV and visible spectral range, combined with light guides and illumination sources for UV and IR wavelengths.

    Data sets for genuine and counterfeit value documents were captured using this prototype system and its authentication performance was tested based on host-side classification of this data. The algorithms employed for feature authentication rely on model-based vector correlation and the extraction of average intensity values from pre-defined wavelength ranges.

    The test results show that the authentication of value documents with such a system is feasible in principle, but also that there are limitations regarding component costs, the availability of light sources for farther UV wavelengths and the stability of spectral features on value documents in circulation.

    This work was performed in the context of Linnæus University’s Master Programme in Signal Processing and Wave Propagation. The sensor development took place at the research facility of Talaris Limited, Berne Branch in cooperation with the Laboratory for Optics and Photonics, University of Applied Sciences Berne, Switzerland.

    Today, there are many high-level interactive applications and products around the world which are developed by using programming languages or software. Basically, games, virtual museums, educational applications, interactive architectural products are the simplest examples about these interactive solutions. In this thesis, interactive gallery means moving objects in a three-dimensional room. Objects can be re-placed by using keyboard keys in this three-dimensional room. Thus, user can move these interactive objects in accordance with intended purpose.

    Interactive gallery is similar with a room that has furniture, door and windows. Also, this room includes interactive objects in it. The main focal point is about how these objects can be displayed interactively and how different methods are used, when these processes are started to be made. This thesis helps to solve these questions.

    Interactive gallery bases on model loading structure and on the following thesis, this process is parted. It starts with 3D modelling, continuous with model loading and it ends with key implementation.

    Many-body cooperative energy transfer is an important process in biology, medicine, photosynthesis, rare-earth-doped laser materials, responsible for up- and down-conversion of energy, optical excitation sensitization and relaxation. We present an analytical solution for long-time asymptotic of static luminescence quenching kinetics due to cooperative energy transfer to ensembles of acceptors comprised of two-, three-, and more particles. For cooperative energy transfer and cooperative luminescence quenching to n-body acceptors we have discovered a new law of power d/(nS - (n - 1)d) time dependence (d = 1, 2, 3 is the space dimension, S = 6, 8, 10 is the multipolarty of interaction: dipole-dipole, dipole-quadrupole, or quadrupole-quadrupole).     Abstract [en]

    We present a quantum-like model of decision making in games of the Prisoner's Dilemma type. By this model the brain processes information by using representation of mental states in complex Hilbert space. Driven by the master equation the mental state of a player, say Alice, approaches an equilibrium point in the space of density matrices. By using this equilibrium point Alice determines her mixed (i.e., probabilistic) strategy with respect to Bob. Thus our model is a model of thinking through decoherence of initially pure mental state. Decoherence is induced by interaction with memory and external environment. In this paper we study (numerically) dynamics of quantum entropy of Alice's state in the process of decision making. Our analysis demonstrates that this dynamics depends nontrivially on the initial state of Alice's mind on her own actions and her prediction state (for possible actions of Bob.)

    Influence of age on peripheral aberration2010Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to compare peripheral higher order aberrations in young

    and old emmetropic eyes across the horizontal (±40°) and inferior (–20°) visual field.

    Introduction

     

     

    People with central visual field loss use eccentric fixation for various visual tasks.

    Recently studies have shown that the correction of lower order aberrations (defocus &

    astigmatism) can improve eccentric vision in subjects with central visual field loss

    (CFL)[1]. The CFL subjects mostly correspond to older age groups who use eccentric

    fixation angles up to 20°–30°. While there have been studies comparing the off-axis

    lower order aberrations in normal young and old subjects[2], there is only one recent

    study, which has compared off-axis higher order aberrations in normal young and old

    emmetropic eyes up to 20° (horizontal and vertical) eccentricity[3]. In this study we

    have measured off-axis aberrations in a group of 10 young (23 ± 3 years) and 10 old

    (57 ± 4 years) emmetropes. The aberrations of the right eye were measured using

    COAS-HD VR Hartmann-Shack aberrometer in steps 10° out to ± 40° horizontally and

    –20° inferiorly in the visual field. Subjects rotated the eyes to view the fixation targets,

    which were red light emitting diodes, placed at 3 meter from the eye. The aberrations

    were quantified for a pupil area 5 mm in diameter.

    Discussion

     

     

    Mixed between-within subject’s analysis of variance of the horizontal coma C13

    showed that there was a statistically significant difference between age groups

    (p<0.05). The coma increased linearly in both groups from nasal to temporal visual

    field. The rate of change was greater in the old (slope = –0.027 μm/deg) compared

    to the young (slope = –0.012 μm/deg) emmetropes. In the inferior visual field,

    vertical coma C-13 changed linearly in both groups with higher values in old (slope =

    0.015 μm/deg) compared to young (slope = 0.006 μm/deg). The mean spherical

    aberration was positive in older emmetropes (0.053 μm) compared to young

    emmetropes (-0.030 μm). The HO RMS showed a quadratic increase in the

    periphery for both age groups. The HO RMS was greater in older emmetropes but it

    was not statistically significant (p>0.05) when compared to young emmetropes.

     

    Conclusions

     

     

    Our results show that there is an increase in coma, spherical aberration, and HO

    RMS with age in the periphery.

    Measurement of Off-axis Refraction with a Commercial Open Field Aberrometer2010Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Purpose:

    People with central visual field loss (CFL) use their remaining peripheral vision in order to see better when performing various visual related tasks. At large off-axis angles, the eccentric vision can be limited both by the low resolution capacity of the peripheral retina and by the optical aberrations caused due to oblique angles. Previous work has shown that eccentric correction of induced off-axis astigmatism can improve vision in a preferred retinal location (PRL) for people with CFL. However, the eccentric refraction is often difficult to determine with traditional refractive methods. This work therefore shows the use of a commercially available wavefront sensor to measure fast and reliable off-axis refraction. Data on off-axis refraction is also of interest in the field of myopia research.

    Methods:

    We used the new open-field high-definition complete ophthalmic analysis system, COAS HD -VR, to evaluate off-axis refraction. Using the special Vision Research tool in this system stimulus (fixation objects) can be presented in a large part of the visual field. The instrument can measure out to 40 degrees in the horizontal visual field and 20 degrees in the vertical visual field with a range from sphere +7 D to − 17 D. It measures astigmatism up to 10 D. This instrument also allows natural binocular viewing without obstacles. Aberrations of the right eye of 30 emmetropes (24 ± 4 years) were studied. Off-axis refraction and higher order (HO) aberrations were measured in steps of 10° out to ± 30° in the horizontal visual field

    Results:

    The first data on young emmetropic eyes with this new instrument showed promising results for low (LO) and higher order (HO) aberrations in the peripheral visual field. Of the LO aberrations, astigmatism increased significantly with the off–axis angle, from 0.25 D at 10° Nasal to 1.65 D at 30° Nasal. In the HO aberrations, coma (C13) showed a linear increase across the horizontal visual field (p < 0.05)

    Conclusions:

    The COAS HD-VR shows promising results and good usability for future research in evaluation of off-axis refraction. In future we believe the aberrometer can be used clinically to measure off-axis refractions in low vision patients.

    Abstract [en]

    PurposeThe interest in off-axis aberrations has increased with the discovery of a possible link between myopia development and peripheral optics. The most common technology to measure the off-axis aberrations is a Shack-Hartmann wavefront aberrometer. This is the first study to report peripheral aberrations in a large sample of emmetropic population with a commercial open-view Shack-Hartmann aberrometer. MethodsThe commercial open-view Shack-Hartmann aberrometer COAS-HD VR was used to measure the aberrations in the peripheral vision. Aberrations of the right eye of 30 emmetropes (24 {+/-} 4 years) were studied. Off-axis aberrations were measured in steps of 10{degrees} out to {+/-} 30{degrees} in the horizontal visual field. The subjects turned their eye to view the off-axis fixation target (light emitting diode placed at 3 meters) during the measurement. The resulting wavefront aberrations were parameterized with Zernike coefficients for a 5 mm diameter pupil. All analyzes are reported according to optical society of America (OSA) recommended standards. ResultsAberrations from the 2nd to 6th order and the total higher-order root-mean-square (HO RMS) were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The defocus C02 was significantly myopic in the nasal visual field (+20{degrees}, +30{degrees}) whereas there was no significant difference in the temporal visual field. Astigmatism C22 increased quadratically from {+/-}10{degrees} in the periphery and coma C13 showed a linear increase across the horizontal visual field (p < 0.05). The spherical aberration C04 and the total HO RMS showed a significant change at {+/-}30o. ConclusionsOur results showed that in young emmetropes there was a significant increase of HO RMS at {+/-}30{degrees}, which is expected. Astigmatism, horizontal coma, and spherical aberration vary systematically across the horizontal visual field in agreement with Seidel theory. The findings of our study with a large sample of emmetropic population agree with the previous studies done with laboratory built aberrometers.

    Abstract [en]

    PURPOSE.: The purpose of this study is to assess the intrasession repeatability of ocular aberration measurements in the peripheral visual field with a commercially available Shack-Hartmann aberrometer (complete ophthalmic analysis system-high definition-vision research). The higher-order off-axis aberrations data in young healthy emmetropic eyes are also reported.

    METHODS.: The aberrations of the right eye of 18 emmetropes were measured using an aberrometer with an open field of view that allows peripheral measurements. Five repeated measures of ocular aberrations were obtained and assessed in steps of 10 degrees out to +/-40 degrees in the horizontal visual field (nasal + and temporal -) and -20 degrees in the inferior visual field. The coefficient of repeatability, coefficient of variation, and the intraclass correlation coefficient were calculated as a measure of intrasession repeatability.

    RESULTS.: In all eccentric angles, the repeatability of the third- and fourth-order aberrations was better than the fifth and sixth order aberrations. The coefficient of variation was <30% and the intraclass correlation coefficient was >0.90 for the third and fourth order but reduced gradually for higher orders. There was no statistical significant difference in variance of total higher-order root mean square between on- and off-axis measurements (p > 0.05). The aberration data in this group of young emmetropes showed that the horizontal coma (C13) was most positive at 40 degrees in the temporal field, decreasing linearly toward negative values with increasing off-axis angle into the nasal field, whereas all other higher-order aberrations showed little or no change.

    CONCLUSIONS.: The complete ophthalmic analysis system-high definition-vision research provides fast, repeatable, and valid peripheral aberration measurements and can be used efficiently to measure off-axis aberrations in the peripheral visual field

    Det här arbetet är ett utvecklingsprojekt vars mål är att producera en applikationsom ska integreras i C4 Webbutveckling AB:s e-butikssystem. Användningsområdet för applikationen är att en kund ska kunna designa en produkt ur e-butiken med bild- eller texttryck. Applikationen kommer att utvecklas för Flashplattformen eftersom det var ett av kraven från uppdragsgivaren. Rent praktiskt så kommer applikationen fungera enligt följande: kunden väljer en produkt som den vill trycksätta och applikationen öppnas. Användaren kan nu välja vilket eller vilka tryck den vill ha ur en lista, när den sedan klickat på ett tryck kan användaren dra runt trycket och placera det där den önskar på produkten. När användaren är klar så klickar den på ”gå vidare” och den skickas vidare ur applikationen och tillbaka in i butiken. I samband med att applikationen stängs så skapas en PDF-fil med bilder på de trycksatta produkterna och skickas upp till servern för att instruera leverantören om hur trycken ska placeras.

    Abstract [en]

    The market of smart mobile devices is getting bigger and bigger and it can be a great way to reach out with your service or product to the crowed by deploying a mobile application. The installable applications on the mobile devices that uses device-specific functions is called native applications, and are tied to one platform. They can therefore only be used by those devices that make use of that platform. The two largest platforms is iOS (used by mobile devices from Apple) and Android (used by a variety of devices including Samsung, LG and HTC). This means that if you want to reach out to multiple platforms you will have to create a separate application for each platform. It also requires the developer/developers to have the proper knowledge of the programming languages in which the platform is compatible to. This can be both time consuming and expensive, especially if you as a company is hiring developers to develop your app.

    The purpose of this study is to determine whether the open source library known as Phonegap can be used to develop a mobile application that ultimately can be distributed and installed on multiple mobile platforms, this by using Web technologies such as CSS, HTML and JavaScript.

    During this study a mobile application will be created and evaluated. Studies will be done on how to go about and if there is anything one might need to take in consideration when it comes to the variety of units with different properties and functions. Usability testing will also be performed to determine whether a near native performance can achieved with this technique.

    The results show that Phonegap is an excellent tool for access of device-specific functions and that you together with interface frameworks such as jQuery Mobile can reach out to most of the newer mobile devices available today. However, one would do well to analyze if the scope of the application requires an interface library, as those who are available may perform poorly on certain mobile operating system.

    The purpose of this empirical study is to examine how teachers can provide opportunities for children aged 6 to extend their understanding of the equal sign. This study is inspired by the Learning Study method which is a method that has its origins in variation theory.  By analyzing the children's initial abilities before planning our lessons, it gives us an idea of the children's knowledge. From there the lessons are planned and the aspects that are the most critical for the children are lifted and thereby develop their knowledge. Our conclusion is that it is important to work with variety oriented learning. The children are successful in tasks in which they are allowed to experiment with concrete materials.

    Svenska kommuner står inför den komplexa och omfattande uppgiften att skapa grundläggande informationssäkerhet för förvaltningsverksamhet. Denna uppgift förutsätter ett ledningssystem för informationssäkerhet, en betydande del av ledningssystemet är att upplåta en informationssäkerhetspolicy. Policydokumentet bör enligt tidigare forskning hållas levande genom revidering för att säkra kvaliteten inom informationssäkerhetsarbetet. Syftet med denna studie är att studera hur svenska kommuner bedriver arbetet med att hålla informationssäkerhetspolicyn levande, dvs. revidera denna. Studien genomförs med en kvalitativ datainsamlingsmetod där tre personer med en ledande befattning inom informationssäkerhetsarbete i utvalda kommuner intervjuas. Undersökningen beskriver hur kommunerna i studien bedriver arbetet med att revidera informationssäkerhetspolicyn. Slutsatsen är att svenska kommuner reviderar informationssäkerhetspolicyn, men inte på ett sådant sätt att policyn kan betraktas som ett levande styrdokument.

    Abstract [en]

    The aim with this degree project is to examine teaching and learning during a mathlesson characterized by traditional school mathematics. The method of the study was aparticipant observation of a mathematics lesson in year 3 in upper secondary school. Using the concepts of mathematical learning objects, mathematical resources, and pupil as an active learner in combination with socio-mathematical norms, I have interpreted the results generated from the observation. Two main conclusions can be drawn from the study. Firstly, pupils are encouraged to become independent as active learners in the teaching of traditional school mathematics. Secondly, it is primarily the teacher who makes potential mathematical resources visible and available for the pupils. With an increasing awareness of pupils’ use of mathematical resources, teachers can affect pupils’ learning by making potential mathematical resources explicit in a more conscious way.

    Den militära underrättelsetjänsten i Sverige är i behov av att kunna hantera och analysera stora mängder information. Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut (FOI) arbetar med utveckling av verktyget Impactorium som är ett stöd för hantering och analys av lägesinformation och fungerar som hjälp för beslutsfattande. Det här arbetet behandlar en gränssnittsutvärdering av Impactorium med syftet är att finna användbarhetsproblem som FOI kan åtgärda, samt att undersöka om det går att skapa en användbar design utan att blanda in den tänkta målgruppen i designprocessen. I studien ingick en heuristisk utvärdering av en användbarhetsexpert och ett användbarhetstest med försökspersoner som inte tillhör gruppen slutanvändare. Användbarhetsproblem som upptäcktes validerades sedan i en fokusgrupp bestående av experter med domänkunskap inom området underrättelse, som bedömde om problemen kan anses vara samma som riktiga användare kommer drabbas av.

    Studien visade att flertalet av problemen som upptäcktes av personer utanför målgruppen var riktiga problem riktade mot användbarhet. 40 av 64 problem klassades som allvarliga problem som behöver åtgärdas. Endast två av de 64 klassades inte alls som problem. Det finns stor risk att användarnyttan inte är genomtänkt och att det behövs en djupare förståelse för slutanvändarna om Impactorium skall bli användbart. Hur slutanvändaren vill arbeta och vilken funktionalitet han har behov av bör inte basras på antaganden.

    En kvalitetsförbättrande metod som senaste åren blivit vanlig inom Hälso- och sjukvård är Lean Healthcare - en verksamhetsfilosof som går ut på att eliminera slöseri och skapa värde för patienterna. I takt med att informationssystem och informationsteknik (IT) har utvecklats har informationsförsörjning fått en allt viktigare roll i vårdprocessen. Tidigare undersökningar visar dock att vårdpersonalen upplever att det finns många brister kopplade till informationssystem och IT. En explorativ fallstudie genomfördes där kvalitativ data samlades in med hjälp av intervjuer, dokumentstudier samt observation. Syftet var att beskriva hur informationsförsörjningen påverkats i ett kliniskt mikrosystem och i en vårdprocess som infört Lean. Resultatet visar att mikrosystemets leaninförande har fått positiva resultat inom framgångsgrupperna patienter, personal, resultat/processer/flöden och ledarskap. Däremot har information och IT haft mycket litet betydelse i förbättringsarbetet. Mikrosystemets informationsmiljö har dock förändrats, den visuella informationen har blivit mycket viktig och den analoga mer allmänna informationen har påverkats positivt.  Trots mängden analog och visuell information är det inom digitala informationssystem och dokumentation som mikrosystemet upplever att det förekommer mest slöseri. När det gäller analog information känner vårdpersonalen att de kan eliminera slöseri med hjälp av leanprinciper och metoder, exempelvis 5S. Däremot anser de inte att de har möjlighet att påverka den digitala informationen i samma utsträckning och för vårdpersonalen faller sig inte förbättring av informationsflöden lika naturligt som att förbättra patientnära aktiviteter i vårdprocessen.

    Syftet med vår undersökning var att uppmärksamma och synliggöra den matematik som barnen lär sig på fritidshemmet. Vi valde att genomföra vår undersökning genom enkäter och intervjuer för att få så väl ett kvantitativt som kvalitativt perspektiv på vår undersökning. I enkätundersökningen deltog tolv fritidspedagoger och vi intervjuade två av dessa pedagoger. Resultatet av undersökningen påvisar att det matematiska lärande som sker på fritidshemmet i första hand sker genom informellt lärande i olika autentiska aktiviteter. Det är den vardagsnära och praktiska matematiken som pedagogerna upplever vara matematik. Aktiviteter så som bakning, spela spel och bygga med lego är exempel på aktiviteter som pedagogerna menar har stort värde för barnens matematiska utveckling. Tyvärr anser inte pedagogerna att den matematik barnen möter på fritidshemmet kopplas till skolarbetet i den utsträckning det skulle kunna göra. Detta anser pedagogerna bland annat beror på ett minskat samarbete mellan verksamheterna.

    Abstract [sv]

    Rapporten beskriver arbetet och resultaten av en prestandajämförelse mellan Teredo och 6to4, som används för att tunnla IPv6-trafik över publika IPv4-nätverk. Detta gjordes då ingen tidigare forskning hittats som jämför dessa tekniker ur prestandasynpunkt. Tre separata testmiljöer, en vardera för Teredo, 6to4 och 6to4 bakom NAT, sattes upp i en labbmiljö. I varje testmiljö skickades genererad trafik i åtta omgångar mellan två klienter, som samlade in testdata. Insamlad testdata bearbetades med formler för Throughput, End to End Delay, Round Trip Time och Jitter och ett medelresultat för varje räknades ut. Medelresultaten ställdes mot varandra i tabeller och grafer för överskådlig presentation och analys. Resultaten för End to End Delay ströks från prestandajämförelsen på grund av låg tillförlitlighet. Slutsatsen var att 6to4 presterade bättre än 6to4 bakom NAT vad gäller Throughput, Round Trip Time och Jitter i de tester som utförts. Orsaken till detta var den extra fördröjning som NAT gav när paket skickades och togs emot i testmiljön för 6to4 bakom NAT. På grund av skillnader i testmiljön hade resultaten för Teredo inte den tillförlitlighet som krävdes för att dra någon slutsats om teknikens prestanda gentemot 6to4 eller 6to4 bakom NAT.

    Avsikten med detta arbete har varit att undersöka huruvida någon prestandaskillnad föreligger mellan nätverksnodernas vidarebefordring av prioriterad trafik i en nätverksmiljö med Quality of service-funktioner (QoS) implementerade och nätverksnodernas arbete i samma nätverksmiljö med separata, virtuella nätverk uppsatta med hjälp av Virtual routing and forwarding (VRF). Målet var att resultatet ska ha möjlighet att väga in när för- och nackdelar mellan olika sätt att separera nätverkstrafik jämförs ur prestandasynpunkt. Rapporten beskriver arbetet med samt resultatet av ett empiriskt experiment som kontrollerade VRF:ers påverkan på QoS-funktioner. Ett fysiskt nätverk sattes upp för att kontrollera hur QoS påverkades av logisk separering av experimentmiljöns nätverk på lager tre med hjälp av VRF. I detta nätverk utfördes även ett kontrollexperiment utan logisk separation för att skapa en baseline samt ett experiment där separering utfördes med hjälp av accesslistor. För varje experimentfas skickades en videoström genom experimentmiljön för att mäta End to end delay, Packet loss och Jitter, samt webbside requests för att upp mäta Round trip time. Detta testförfarande utfördes tre gånger per experimentfas.

     

    I experimenten kunde ingen Packet loss uppmätas vilket tyder på att QoS fungerade som avsett, även med VRF. Vissa förändringar för nätverksnoderna behövde genomföras beroende på teknik, vilket gjorde att det blev svårt att dra en slutsats av resultaten för End to end delay, Jitter och Round trip time.

    Abstract [en]

    E-mail has become a useful and almost indispensible communication tool for people at workplaces and in their private life. This thesis intends to examine how e-mail affects individuals work. It also refers to examine what kind of factors that can contribute to e-mail stress and how you can help prevent it. We have made a questionnaire study to help us investigate this in different organizations. We have then analyzed the data from the survey and compared it to previous studies and theories. We show in this thesis result that 21.1 % of the respondents find e-mail to be a contributing factor for stress. We present in this chapter a table where you can see that the ones who does not have enough time for email spend 2 hours and 11 minutes with email while the ones who do have enough time only spend 1 hour and 47 minutes. We also present what the cause might be and how it can be avoided with data from our survey. In the end of the thesis we draw a conclusion from our result and analysis as well as a discussion of how the study went.

    Abstract [en]

    Organizations over the world increasingly start to realize the possibilities of the use of a social intranet, also known as Enterprise 2.0. The social intranets can be used to collaborate and communicate with colleagues in the workplace. Both Cook (2008) and Coope (Barnett, 2011) say that Enterprise 2.0 is about to fundamentally change the way organizations communicate. But do companies know how these tools can be used?

    The study emanates from three questions:

    • How can social intranets be used in business?
    • How can internal communication and collaboration get easier through the use of a social intranet?
    • What are the possible risks with the use of social intranets?

    In this study we have in a qualitative manner been interviewing two companies that currently use social intranets in their daily activities – Securitas and Skåneme-jerier. The interviews where performed via telephone with two people familiar with the respective social intranets. We have also sent out a questionnaire via e-mail to a user group of each company's intranet, to gain knowledge of users' opi-nions.

    The interviews show that both companies agree that it is important for peers to communicate and exchange information and knowledge with each other. The so-cial intranets are used both for communication, collecting employees' knowledge, and to ease the employees information need by gathering all information at the same place. Respondents also pointed out the advantage of written information and knowledge. As it is written it is also searchable. It will also remain in the organiza-tion even though the creator might leave the company. The fact that all users can edit for example wikis and files on the intranet can be used to keep information up to date.

    Idag använder många band och artister utan skivkontrakt olika tjänster på Internet för för att publicera sitt material. Dagens populära tjänster saknar antingen en välutvecklad musikspelare eller en webbplats med community.

    Syftet med det här arbetet är att med hjälp av molntjänsten Google App Engine, programspråket Python och ramverket Django utveckla en mer komplett tjänst.

    Arbetet resulterade i grunden till en tjänst samt en rad positiva och negativa slutsatser gällande valet av teknik.
