Title: ​Reverse Logistics Process and its Performance Measurement System in an OnlineFashion BusinessAuthors: ​Jad Sadia & Amna ShahzadBackground: ​Nowadays, managing the process and measuring the performance of reverse logistics process has gained tremendous importance in online fashion businesses because of increasing rate of returns in online business. Therefore, there remains a need to extend the theory into the context of performance measurement system of reverse logistics process in an online fashion business in order to create value for the organisation.Purpose: ​This thesis describes the important aspects and activities of reverse logistics process in an online fashion business and analyse how the goals and performance measures of reverse logistics are aligned. The core purpose of this thesis is to construct a performance measurement system of reverse logistics process in an online fashion business.Method: ​This thesis uses a multiple case study approach to gather qualitative data by conducting semi-structured interviews and carrying out in-case and cross-case analysis of four Swedish companies in order to answer the research questions and in the end, formulate a performance measurement system of reverse logistics process in an online fashion business.Findings & Conclusion: ​A performance measurement system of reverse logistics process in an online fashion business has been constructed. Also, some aspects have been identified which are important to be considered in the process of reverse logistics. The important aspects are: customer loyalty, return policy, third party logistics and fraudulent returns. Moreover, the important activities consist of of collection, inspection, sorting, and disposition. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a lot of need of measuring performance of reverse logistics process in order to make the process of reverse logistics more efficient and create value for the organisation.
