The ethnocentric man´s burden to obstruct educational materials (English)
Abstract [en]

This is a study about educational materials in history, focused on colonialism and imperialism post-war. The materials used for this study are published in the 1950´s when several former colonies were liberated and declared as independent. The purpose of this study is to collect and compare the educational materials and inquire into the materials with a theory of ethnocentrism. The materials are published at different times during 1950 to 1956 and are quite similar in the traditional disposition. The study proves, despite the spreading ideology of world assuring peace and protection of the human rights, educational materials in history are deeply influenced by ethnocentrism and what we probably would perceive as racism today.
