Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien var att undersöka sambandet mellan akademisk motivation och

prokrastinering hos gymnasieelever. Utifrån Self-Determination Theory formulerades

tre hypoteser: att prokrastinering har ett negativt samband med inre motivation, ett

positivt samband med yttre motivation samt att yttre motivation förutsäger

prokrastinering i högre grad än inre motivation. Studien genomfördes genom en

kvantitativ tvärsnittsdesign där data samlades in genom en enkät som besvarades av 82

gymnasieelever. Datan analyserades genom korrelationsanalys och multipel

regressionsanalys. Resultaten visade att varken inre eller yttre motivation hade ett

signifikant samband med prokrastinering i korrelationsanalysen. Den multipla

regressionsanalysen visade dock att både inre och yttre motivation var signifikanta

prediktorer för prokrastinering men i motsatta riktningar, vilket stämmer överens med

studiens tredje hypotes.
