This thesis examines how the memory culture surrounding the football club Östers IF is expressed among supporters in the supporter association Eastfront, and how this contributes to the formation of an imagined community. By analyzing collective memories, the study explores how values and historical narratives are transmitted between generations.

The source material consists of qualitative interviews with six supporters, visual analysis of tifos and stickers, and textual analysis of the supporter fanzine Öster News from the period 1992–2025.

The results show that the memory culture is maintained through social interaction and specific institutions such as the fanzine and informal museums. Central themes include loyalty, local patriotism linked to sites like Staglaberget, and a sense of self-irony regarding the club's identity as a "yo-yo club.". Finally, a didactic reflection is presented on how the source material of supporter culture can be utilized in history education to illustrate the concept of the use of history.
