Abstract [es]

Abstract [en]

This study analyzes two chapters of Eelena Poniatowska's novel Leonora (2011) and compares them with Leonora Carrington's short stories, "The Debutante" (1992 a) and "White Rabbits" (1992 b). The analysis focuses on the disruptive aspects narrated in the texts, which are read or interpreted considering Mikhail Bakhtin's theory of laughter, Judith Butler's approaches to gender identity, and the central concepts of Gabriel Giorgi's work regarding the relationship between nature and culture. With regard to the disruptive aspects common to both texts, this paper raises a reflection on the intertextual relationship (Genette, 1989) between Poniatowska's and Carrington's works. The purpose of this comparative and intertextual analysis is to arrive at the results of our analysis, which demonstrates that the selected texts by Carrington and Poniatowska express disruptive elements that can be analyzed from the perspective of Bakhtin, Butler, and Giorgi. It also demonstrates that there is an intertextual relationship between the aforementioned texts.
