The paper justifies the necessity to analyze and precise the methodology ofcalculation of such drive shafts, which are important components in the complicateddriveline of automobiles and heavy vehicles. Based upon the elaborated threedimensional models, an innovative approach is developed and applied by the authors’team. Through the developed model based upon Simulink the variation of dynamicloading of the intermediate shaft of cardan drives has been investigated. Results fromcomputer simulation are shown and discussed. The presented approach for precisecalculating and design of drive shafts is aiming to improve the quality of theengineering design activities.
