Domestic violence is a huge societal problem and women are the most exposed group. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic there were many who said that the vulnerability of women would enhance and that it would lead to an increase of workload at the women’s shelters. This thesis is illustrating the experiences of violence against women in relationships among the coworkers at the women’s shelter during the pandemic. The thesis also investigates how the day-to-day work has been for the co-workers. Furthermore, the focus in this study lies in how the setup for resources and financing is for the women’s shelter and whether it is sufficient in situations of crisis. This is a qualitative study performed via semi structured interviews with co-workers at women’s shelters in Sweden. The conclusions of the study indicate that there is a trend towards an increasing level of violence in relations towards women. The resources are not sufficient to cover the needs at the women’s shelter, the women’s shelters have not been required to make any special adjustments during the Covid-19 pandemic, besides to start up new contact forums so that victims of violence can reach assistance.
