De-designing hairy taboos : A designerly exploration of possibilities in public spaces of Malmö (English)
Abstract [en]

How could design be used to end the shaming of women’s body hair? How could it generate more acceptance and advocate for bodily autonomy, diversity and positivity instead? The project de-designing hairy taboos explores those questions by creating different interventions in the public spaces of Malmö. Hereby, the intention is to provoke engagement with how we perceive, evaluate, and also construct the female body and to give voice to the silence around gender-specific body hair.
