Abstract

In Sweden and other parts of the world, heakthecare is stiving for increased use of various e-health solutions az a means to improve and make health care more effective. However, experience from e-helath implementation shows that the focus is ofthen om the technical aspect, while organizational factors such az acceptance and integration with people are not always considered.

The Covid-19 pandemic, with its visitings restrictions, accelerated rhe digital transformation, including tha rapd implementation of video visits and other solutions to address the acute needs tha arose.

The main purpose of the study is to explore the experiences of managers and how they acted before and duting the implementation of video visitds in connecction with the Covid-19 pandemic at a hopital. The participants in the study were managers at outpatients units that implemented video visits. Semi-structured interviews wewe used for data collection. Interview questions wewe designed based om Kurt Lewin´s and John Kotter´s change models. The collected data was analysed using a qualitative approach wih deduktive content analysis.

The results shows taht the managers found the implementation of video visits to be successful, despite the raptid implementation process. There was a clear rationale for the implemenation of video visits due to visiting restrictions. The managers largely acted in line with Lewin´s and Kotter´s chenge models by communicating, continuously evaluating, anf being engaged.
