Abstract [en]
After the changes in the Swedish education act the school library has come to be a natural part of the Swedish school system, however a definition of the employee in the school library has been neglected. Three conversational interviews were executed on three Swedish secondary schools with the ambition to investigate the difference between the pedagogic works and literature intermediation from two school librarians' and one teacher librarian's perspective. Based on the result from the interviews an analysis was made with the profession perspective in mind. To distinguish the school libraries integration with the rest of the school they were placed in the levels of Loertscher's (2000) taxonomy. The results show that the school libraries with the school librarians as opposed to the teacher turned out to be the most integrated with the rest of the school and had a functioning pedagogic practice with literature intermediation.
