Hourglass: Mouth-blown glasses in three sizes
2013 (English)Artistic output (Unrefereed) [Artistic work]
Resource type
Three dimensional object
Description [en]
In the Hourglass series, Sia Mai and Ole Victor used the hourglass shape as their point of departure. In art, the hourglass is an old symbol of the passing of time, mortality and death. Their goal was to create a series of glasses that convey an inner narrative about the passing of time and the glass-blowers who create the glass with their breath. For Sia Mai and Ole Victor, glass should provide a space with room for individual expressions in the end-results. It is essential for them to use and renew the skills that are inherent in Nordic glass and in the tradition of glass-making over the past 100 years.
The CC17 collection debuts at Maison & Objet in Paris from 6 through 10 September 2013 at Stand B86 in Hall 8, Now Design à Vivre.
