The text is dedicated to a reflection on creative moments of the entrepreneurial organization. It presents the practical and theoretical possibilities that a historiographic approach to organization theory can offer, enabling a holistic understanding of the creation of an enterprise in its natural context. First, we present the theoretical framework of interpretive and narrative entrepreneurship studies and their practical implications. Then we portray the results of an ethnographic study of local entrepreneurship in Greater Poland, focusing on the creation narratives. Finally we analyze the empirical data in the light of the insights for the theorizing and practice of entrepreneurial creativity that a historiographic approach is able to bring.
